Our St. Croix Sheep are our pride and joy. They're a very rare species of Hair Sheep.  We hope our effort to   raise pure breeding stock will help increase their numbers.  We have 2 Ewes and 1 Ram.  I'm quite sure at least one of my Ewes are pregnant.  Hopefully we will get a nice crop of lambs this fall.

 

     Our St Croix Sheep are only one of eight different species of Goats and Sheep we raise here.    They are known for their size as well as their meat flavor & texture.  Often they're breed to other breeds of meat sheep to help increase the size of the market animal and the quality of the meat.  Of course this decreases the numbers of pure St. Croix Sheep and makes them  more rare.   We want to encourage people to raise Pure St. Croix  if at all possible.
